The Polytechnic Technopark was established at SPbPU to create a favorable environment for the creation, development, and support of small science-intensive and high-tech businesses, and to support the entrepreneurial activity of university staff, faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates.
Tasks
- ensuring the practical application (implementation) of scientific and technical developments and maximizing their beneficial effect for society and the economy;
- assisting in the creation and development of science-intensive companies;
- ensuring the transition of knowledge and inventions into technologies and their application;
- ensuring the transition from technologies to commercial products.
Core activities
- creating effective mechanisms for the development and creation of sustainable SME entities;
- interaction with federal and regional executive authorities to ensure the sustainable development of scientific, technological, and industrial entrepreneurship;
- interaction with development institutions and innovation support organizations in the Russian Federation;
- consulting and expert support for initiatives to assess opportunities and pathways for project commercialization;
- promotion of entrepreneurship among SPbPU students;
- support for Innovation Assistance Fund grant recipients and Skolkovo Foundation participants among university startups;
- engaging industrial high-tech companies in cooperation with the university, innovation project teams, and SMEs created through the Technopark's activities;
- engaging specialists from real business and industry sectors in cooperation;
- implementation of acceleration programs and events to develop university entrepreneurship.
