Research Center "Strong Artificial Intelligence in Industry"
The federal project was developed by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia with the participation of the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia, the FP Competence Center, and a working group under the ANO "Digital Economy."

The "Strong Artificial Intelligence in Industry" Center was established at ITMO University. Twice in a row (2021, 2025), it won the grant competition under the "Artificial Intelligence" federal project. In 2025, experts from the Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation selected 7 winners — research centers organized at leading universities. They are intended to serve as focal points for the development of artificial intelligence (AI) in Russia.
The federal project was developed by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia with the participation of the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia, the Federal Project Competence Center, and a working group under the ANO "Digital Economy" to implement the National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence through 2030.
The main goal of the project is to increase the number of domestic developments in the field of artificial intelligence and address the talent shortage in high-tech companies. The objective is to create conditions for enterprises and citizens to use products and services based primarily on domestic artificial intelligence technologies, ensuring a qualitatively new level of efficiency in their activities.

Furthermore, education in the field of AI technologies is actively developing thanks to the FP. New bachelor's and master's programs have been developed and launched, as well as continuing professional education courses for teachers and business representatives.
It is expected that by 2030, the project's implementation will ensure an increase in the well-being and quality of life of Russians, strengthen national security and the law enforcement system, achieve sustainable competitiveness of the Russian economy, and secure leading global positions in the field of artificial intelligence.
