General information

The V.G. Khlopin Radium Institute (a subsidiary of Rosatom State Corporation) is the oldest research institute, rightfully considered the cradle of Russian nuclear science and technology.

Currently, the institute's activities, as during its formative years, are comprehensive, combining work in nuclear physics, radiochemistry, radioecology, radiogeochemistry, and the production of radionuclides and radionuclide sources, including radiopharmaceuticals.

  • Radiopharmaceuticals
Production of diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals

  • Applied radiochemistry
Development of environmentally safe technologies for spent nuclear fuel reprocessing and radioactive waste management

  • Radionuclide sources
Production of radionuclide radiation sources, reference radionuclide activity standards, etc.

  • Radioecology
Radiochemical, radiogeochemical, and radioecological research

  • Training
Training in the synthesis of ceramic matrices for high-level waste immobilization

  • Isotope technologies
Development of technologies for isotope production and separation
