As part of a competitive selection process conducted by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation for the provision of federal budget grants in the form of subsidies for projects to create and develop engineering centers (EC) based at higher education and scientific organizations, the Saint Petersburg State Institute of Technology (Technical University) won a project to establish the "First All-Russian Engineering Center for Molecular Layering Technology."
