The Engineering Center "Computer Engineering Center" (CompMechLab®) of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University is a leader in the development of original technologies, designs, equipment, and products based on advanced manufacturing technologies (primarily digital design and modeling, computer and supercomputer engineering, computer optimization technologies, and additive technologies).

Key areas of activity

  1. Regular execution of R&D to ensure the development and creation of fundamentally new and globally competitive "best-in-class" optimized next-generation products / parts / components / structures for leading global and Russian industrial companies;

Technologies and computing resources

The CompMechLab® team holds licenses for a wide range of CAD/CAE/CFD/FSI/MBD/EMA/CAO/CAM/CAAM/HPC technologies used by all major global industrial companies. This enables rapid engagement with almost any customer; furthermore, by integrating multiple technologies, it is possible to solve problems that customers often categorized as "unsolvable." To effectively manage development processes and form technology chains, the SPbPU Engineering Center has developed its own CML-PDM system.
The CompMechLab® Engineering Center team utilizes the resources of the "Polytechnic" Supercomputer Center (SCC), one of the highest-performance SCCs in Russia. The SCC computing environment has a total peak performance of approximately 1.3 PFlops.

The SPbPU Engineering Center participates in the implementation of the National Technology Initiative (NTI).

Vice-Rector for Advanced Projects at SPbPU, Head of the SPbPU Engineering Center, Professor A.I. Borovkov, is the leader (co-chair) of the working group "TechNet" NTI, and is also a member of the working group of the Economic Council under the President of Russia for the "Digital Economy" direction.
