SF6 (sulfur hexafluoride) is a unique gas widely used in electrical engineering as a powerful insulator and an effective medium for quenching electric arcs. It is used in high-voltage circuit breakers, transformers, manufacturing, construction, and power grids worldwide.
Regular monitoring of the purity and concentration of this gas is critical for the reliable operation of equipment. Previously, devices from German manufacturers were predominantly used for these tasks in Russia.
Now, domestic industry has its own development. The NTT-IK company has created a modern sensor for checking SF6 purity. The project was implemented with grant support, and our Technopark directly participated in the acceptance testing of the new product. Currently, the documentation is being submitted to the Agency for Technological Development (ATD).
This project is part of a major import substitution effort. The Saint Petersburg Technopark acts as the regional operator for the ATD, and thanks to this support, the city has already attracted more than 6.1 billion rubles through the agency for technology development.
