As a regional institute for innovative development, the Saint Petersburg Technopark and the UAS RPC established on its basis are actively involved in the implementation of the National Project "Unmanned Aircraft Systems." A key focus of this work is testing scenarios for UAS application in the urban environment.
“We must all remember that we are one team. Applying the successful practices of colleagues, including unmanned aerial vehicles from residents of the Saint Petersburg Technopark UAS RPC, will make the work of many city services much more efficient,” — says Vice-Governor of Saint Petersburg Evgeny Razumishkin.
According to Oleg Yakimov, Director General of the Saint Petersburg Technopark, the signed Agreement on using UAS to detect violations in urban improvement places Saint Petersburg in a leading position for the application of unmanned technologies in a metropolis.
Unmanned aerial systems allow for condition monitoring and detection of violations at sites that are not within direct line of sight or where access is restricted or difficult. The Technopark will select a company from among the UAS RPC residents to optimally perform specific tasks, support it during the flight permit process, conduct site visits together with the State Administrative and Technical Inspection (GATI), and generate reports on the data obtained.
“The signing of the Agreement between GATI and the Technopark will allow for the future scaling and replication of this practice in the city's control and supervisory activities. I am confident that through this cooperation, we will successfully refine various applications for unmanned technologies,” emphasizes Oleg Yakimov.
