The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation (Minpromtorg of Russia) is a federal executive body that carries out:
Development of state policy and legal regulation in the industrial and defense-industrial complexes, the construction materials (products) and structures industry, energy conservation and energy efficiency in the circulation of goods, as well as in the development of aviation technology and experimental aviation, technical regulation, standardization and ensuring the uniformity of measurements, science and technology for the interests of state defense and security, and foreign and domestic trade
- The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is the authorized (national) body of the Russian Federation for the implementation of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction and the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Stockpiling of Bacteriological (Biological) and Toxin Weapons and on their Destruction.
- The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is the authorized body of the Russian Federation in the field of the defense industry in cases provided for by the Air Code of the Russian Federation.
- The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is the authorized body of the Russian Federation in the field of industrial policy.
- The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is the authorized body of the Russian Federation for coordinating activities in the field of circulation of medicines regarding the production of medicines for medical use.
- The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is the authorized body of the Russian Federation for the electronic submission of information on pharmaceutical inspectors to the Eurasian Economic Commission for the formation of the register of pharmaceutical inspectors of the Eurasian Economic Union member states, as well as for obtaining access to the information in the said register.
- The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation coordinates and controls the activities of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology, which is subordinate to the Ministry.
