The Prototyping Center of the Saint Petersburg Technopark provides electrical discharge machining (EDM) wire cutting services—a technology for non-contact processing of conductive materials using electrical discharges. The process ensures the highest precision (up to 5 μm) and does not introduce mechanical or thermal deformations into the material.
EDM wire cutting is particularly effective for manufacturing complex-shaped parts, thin-walled structures, and elements made of hard-to-machine alloys, including tool steel, titanium, tungsten, etc.
The service is in demand in instrument engineering, aircraft manufacturing, medicine, defense, and the die-making industry. It includes consultations on manufacturability, selection of modes, precision control after cutting, and can be integrated into the Center's comprehensive production process.
