The Chemical Laboratory of the Saint Petersburg Technopark provides melting point determination services for solid samples using an automatic capillary device. The method is based on video recording of the phase transition with precise registration of the onset and completion of melting, which allows for reproducible and objective data.

The analysis is performed with small amounts of substance and allows for the assessment of not only the melting temperature itself, but also the width of the temperature range, which can indicate the degree of sample purity. The method is widely used in pharmaceuticals, organic synthesis, materials science, and biomedical research.

Results are provided as a report specifying the onset and end temperatures of melting, along with interpretation (including compliance with pharmacopoeial requirements).
